Welcome to Marshall Elementary & Mrs. Young's class! 
I have had the honor of teaching school for 14 years. Of those 14 years, 11 of them have been in kindergarten. I have a Bachelor of Science from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant,Oklahoma. I hold certifications in Elementary Education/Early Childhood and a Masters degree in Public School Administration.
While there are many rewarding careers, I can not imagine any of them to be more rewarding than seeing the lights come on in a child's eyes when they finally grasp a difficult concept or learn a new task.
I am married to a wonderful man, Keith, and am the mother of 2 great kids. My son is 20 and my daughter is 19. They are pretty typical teenagers and definitely keep things interesting! I couldn't be more proud of either one of them! A recent addition to our family is our dog, Mr. Pickles!
I am excited to teach second grade this year!
Welcome to my class! 
It is my hope that we can work together to make this year a postive experience. In order to meet the needs of each child in class, I need the support of all parents/guardians. I want every child to enjoy coming to school and to think of it as a great place to be. I want them to love learning and to feel good about themselves.
I believe in a classroom where:
- All children can learn
- Building self-esteem takes place
- A climate of mutual respect is present
- High expectations are set
- Teacher attitude is positive
- Teacher is knowlegeable and skillful
This year your child will learn so many new things in fun and meaningful ways. I am so excited to have your child in class and to partner with you as we begin this learning adventure.
