Guidelines for Classroom Behavior

Children are reminded of specific responsibilities to help keep themselves and others safe.  Limits are set for the children that pertain to safety and appropriate behavior.  The children will learn that the purpose of our classroom expectations is to create an optimum learning environment for all students and to provide a safe, secure, and positive atmosphere.

Children are expected to adhere to the following (Adopted from Great Expectations):

• Value one another as unique and special individuals
• Not laugh or make fun of a person's mistakes, use sarcasm, or put downs
• Use good manners saying "please", "thank you," and letting others go first
• Cheer each other to success
• Help one another whenever possible
• Recognize every effort and applaud it
• Use life principals

If the above firm expectations are not carried out, a natural and logical consequence will occur. Every effort will be made to use developmentally appropriate practices for classroom management and behavior.
